IF THIS IS YOUR PETS FIRST VISIT WITH US
WE WELCOME & ENCOURAGE YOU TO VISIT OUR FACILITY. We believe it is
very important that you meet our professional caring staff and that you
see where your pet will be sleeping and playing during his visit with
us. We would be delighted to give you a tour anytime during our regular
office hours or by
appointment after hours.
Pets, like people usually appreciate a vacation in new surroundings with
new friends. Your pet, once he becomes familiar with his new
surroundings, will have a marvelous and exciting time! If seeing you
pack is upsetting to your pet, we suggest letting his vacation begin
with us BEFORE you begin to pack. This may be less stressful for
your pet. On the same line, if you and your pet have never been
separated, or you are planning a long vacation, bring your pet in for an
overnight “get acquainted” visit. This will help to relieve the
"I've been abandoned syndrome" (separation anxiety) and shows
your pet that you really are coming back.

If CAR SICKNESS is a problem, try withholding your pet's meal on the day
he will be traveling to our resort. Once he is settled in, he will be
offered a complete meal.
Finally, because pets sense and reflect our emotions, please DO NOT
allow any member of the family to stage an emotional
"farewell" scene. Your pet may feel unnecessarily anxious
about their visit if he is subjected to this kind of dramatic display.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN WE ARRIVE?
YOUR PET MUST BE ON A LEASH,
IN
YOUR ARMS, OR IN A CARRIER!
For your pet's safety and security, our door are kept locked at all
times. Please call the office using the red telephone located by our
entrance, the numbers are posted nearby. Our staff will meet you and
gladly assist you with your pet and any belongings.
We ask that you say your "Good-bye's" in the office. You dog
will by taken straight out to a play yard to relieve himself before
being escorted to his awaiting room. For your dog's safety, ALL collars
are removed during his visit.
You will be asked to completely fill out our Guest Care and Contract
sheet. (Yes, we really need this information every visit! It
authorizes us and your veterinarian to care for your pet.) For a speedy
check-in, you may download our
Guest
Care and Contract sheet and complete it before you arrive.
Included in the information needed will be your name, address, phone
number at home and office, as well as information about each pet you
bring: name, breed, color, sex, age, Veterinarian of record, and any
medical information that is necessary for him to have a safe stay.
VERY IMPORTANT will be an EMERGENCY NUMBER where YOU can be reached in case of an emergency with your pet.
If you are to be out of the country, or for any reason unreachable,
please be prepared to leave the number of someone who will make any
important decisions for you in your absence.
For medical problems,
your Veterinarian of record will be called and if medical treatment is
needed, your pet will see his own doctor. In a medical emergency and if,
your Veterinarian is unavailable, your pet will see the closest
Veterinarian available.
For your pet's protection, our discharge policy
requires that we know ahead of time if your pet is to be released to
anyone other than yourself. This name must be on the contract when you
sign in.
Also listed for your selection are our many Special
Services that make your pet's visit extra special! A toy or chewy is
welcome (No Rawhide please). Bedding from home is unnecessary and
discouraged, every guest room is furnished with a cot, bed or sofa,
covered in a lambskin blanket that is changed daily.
Your pet will be examined and observed for any notable problems on check
in and throughout his stay. Any problems or conditions will be noted and
brought to your attention. Any serious or major problems will be treated
appropriately. To insure every guest a flea free, clean and fresh
environment, upon check-in, any guest that has fleas/ticks or is very
untidy will receive a mandatory bath. Rest assured your pet will be
wonderfully cared or until your return.

WHAT WILL MY PET BE DOING DURING HIS VACATION?
The daily routine at the PET INN is very consistent. Within a day or so,
your pet will know and look forward to our daily activities. Much like
children's Day Care, our “kids” also look forward to their
playtimes, mealtimes, and nap & snack times.
Our daily room rates include Room Service featuring;
Premium Meals, Maid Service including daily Fresh Bedding, Morning and
Afternoon Snacks, and Nightly Tuck-in with Hugs.
All CANINE GUESTS receive our very special VIP Guest Care! EVERY dog
receives 5 daily “Potty and Play” periods in our safe, individual,
outside play yards. Dogs love our VIP program; the exercise, one on one
attention, and the opportunity to relieve themselves ‘outside’ as
they are accustom to doing, results in very happy, contented quests.
Our canine ‘House Menu’ consists of premium, easy to digest, Lamb and Rice. In our opinion, this is the most
nutritional and palatable food available today. Our primary feeding is
A.M., with puppies, giants, geriatrics, and by request, fed a second
P.M. meal. Treats and bed time snacks are offered to all our guests.
We offer a variety of room accommodations to meet your pet's
special needs. All are very comfortable and luxurious!
We also offer a menu of Special Services that includes; 'Home
Time', 'Happy Hour,' 'Picnic in the Park,' Gourmet Treats, Swimming and
Hydro-massage, and our wonderful Hydrosurge (Jacuzzi) Baths.
Our FELINE GUESTS enjoy their own quiet area. Their condos are roomy,
offering multiple levels as most cats enjoy climbing up and down. Their
rooms are thoroughly cleaned twice a day. Fresh water and premium dry
kibble are available 24 hours a day, and deluxe canned food is offered
twice a day. Our unique cat condos each have a private window with a
shelf for sunning or bird and squirrel watching. For extra feline
protection against air born diseases, trioxide air purification, ultra
violet rays, and negative air pressure, are all used to maintain a
healthy environment.
Guests with SPECIAL NEEDS have a special place in our hearts.
Chronically ill, babies, geriatrics and physical challenged pets are
welcomed and given the very special care the need.
WE ARE ANIMAL LOVERS! Be assured that while your pet visits with us, he
will be petted, hugged, and talked to throughout the day Your pet's
emotional well being is extremely important to us. We believe the Loving
Care we provide is very special and absolutely necessary to earn your
pet's trust and friendship.
We are “YOUR PET'S LOVING AND LUXURIOUS, HOME AWAY FROM HOME”

WHAT CAN I
EXPECT WHEN MY PET GOES HOME?:
When
your pet first greets you he will be, of course, very excited and happy to
see you. This excitement causes an elevated heart rate and slight rise in
blood pressure, just like in people. Increased need for prolonged
urination and bowel movements usually follows. Don't be surprised, and
please be assured that your pet has had ample and recent opportunity to
carry out these functions.
The excitement of greeting you and the trip home
will cause panting, and this in turn will make your pet very thirsty.
Offer water in small amounts ,or give your pet ice cubes. Please don't
allow your pet to gulp large amounts of water at once, this may cause
stomach upset and vomiting.
Ask if
your pet has been fed on the day he is picked up. Eating an extra meal is
far worse than missing a meal. If you plan to feed your pet, please allow
several hours for him to settle into his old routine before feeding.
Excited pets may tend to gulp food. This can cause an upset stomach that
may lead to diarrhea or vomiting. Please, avoid the temptation to give
your pet "goodies" or "snacks" from the table to "Welcome Him Home". Even
if he has enjoyed these things in the past, after even a few days on ONLY
a quality professional pet food, (no table food) such rich, difficult to
digest foods can cause stomach upset. Give your pet a day or two without
these extras.
Much
like children on vacation or at summer camp, our guests have a wonderful
exciting time, most play very hard while they are visiting us. Some pets
will be ‘pooped’ and may need a day or two of rest to bounce back. Some
will be excited and may seem a little ‘hyper’ for a day or so. Most well
adjusted pets return home just exactly as they left,...well adjusted!
